Subject: Just curious, Blizzard...
I'm a PvE'er. I chose a PvE server to begin with and am loving it. When the honor system came out I PvP'd enough to get the uber discount on my epic mount, but now I really don't feel like PvP'ing anymore.

For the last few months you've been praising Battlegrounds and have completely forgotten about the people who really don't care abou PvP. We've seen ONE new instance that *surprise* has a PvP Arena inside of it. Even then, I turn down a lot of offers to go to DM because the loot generally sucks compared to what BRS/Strat/Scholo has to offer.

It's not that I won't try Battlegrounds, but I simply can't see myself doing it for a long time - kind of like how the PvP system on PvE servers is right now where everything seems to be a big zergfest for both factions. After all, I will have nothing to look forward to in terms of new content unless I try BG. Is that sad, or am I making a very good point?

I'm glad that you're fulfilling PvP needs, but can we try to focus our attention on PvE a little more? If nothing else, then just better itemization. I'm not talking about "slightly fixed endgame sets for <set>, <set>, etc." No, that's stupid. I want to see brand new items with stats that make the item worth wearing over what you can achieve in a 5 man group versus going to MC and getting your ass kicked for an item you can be sure is a huge upgrade over what the player could potentially be wearing at that point in the game.

If you could comment on this, I'd be very grateful.

Zul'Gurub should be right up your alley.

It's being designed as a "casual raid instance", I suppose. You don't need 40 people to take on Zul'Gurub -- just 20, and you can still kill with less. It will not be a long, 14-hour affair; the developers are shooting for a 2-hour experience from start to finish. It should give some worthy loot and present an experience for those who don't have much time but still want to have a more "end-game" experience.

We've not forgotten those who prefer PvE. :)

Q u o t e:
Just those who prefer NON-RAID PvE right? Is there a reason we're only getting new raid instances? It takes a half hour at least to get a 15 man group going that's a pickup. With 20, it'll take 30 minutes probably, 1/4 of the length of the instance.

For the love of God, develope some solo and 5 man content..DM was nice, but now I see you're planning a 20 and 40 man raid instances, with nothing being said about 5 man instances.

The majority of players still prefer 5 man groups, as the majority of players are casual ones, and 20 man instances take a while to get 20 dedicated players.

You'll forgive me, my friend, but we've introduced two non-raid, higher level instances since we launched: Maraudon for the high 40s, and Dire Maul for the max-levels. At the same time, we have not yet introduced a single new raid dungeon.

Max-level characters that wish to 5-man a dungeon have the following choices: Stratholme, Scholomance, Lower Blackrock Spire, and Dire Maul. All four are large dungeons with a great deal of content.

Max-level characters wishing to raid have Onyxia and Molten Core. That's it.

We've not forgotten those who don't prefer to raid -- many of us aren't "raid mentality" players (like myself) -- but at the same time we're working to make up for the lack of raid content in comparison. :)

Q u o t e:
Are you on crack? UBRS as a five man group?! Surely you mean LBRS, as UBRS I can't see being 5 manned anytime soon.

As for Raid additions, you added two outdoor raid encounters..Kazz and Azure. All I've heard about are BWL and this new 20 man raid instance you just pointed out. I haven't seen a single post about another 5 man instance in the works. We have BG's which are raid Vs raid, in terms of player limits.

And I've been here since December, and I can't remember when Maraudon was added, but for end game, in 7 months, you've added one 5-man encounter, though, I will admit, it is very nice, and has three sides, so it's more like 3 different smaller Dungeons. Though the problem is that Raid instances just won't get the same use as 5 man instances do. 5 mans would be/are run a LOT more often than raid instances. Just seems like you're catering to a VERY small percentage of the population with more raid encounters.

Let's be less hostile, please. The Upper/Lower issue was a mistake on my part (I've been living in UBRS lately, heh); Lower was what I meant.

Zul'Gurub should get a great deal more use than, say, Molten Core or Blackwing Lair. I know you're looking for more to do, but the developers are catering to all types -- and that includes giving the hardcore players more goals to achieve.

I suggest waiting to see how the dungeon goes before judging it as less used. :)

That's the Silithid one right? I was kind of hoping it'd be a huge raid instance requireing 40 people, with tons of bosses and stuff.

You're thinking of Ahn'Qiraj, and just you wait... ;)
