Blizzard, I am utterly disgusted about your lack of response on this matter.
Many players are suffering considerably from this. I for one am sick of having to exit the game just to be able to move onto next mob.
There's also an increase in character location lag. More often than not I find myself not being able to hit anything because I'm either "too far away" or have a 360 degree arc of "you are facing the wrong way."
I am not the only one suffering from this. I've asked around and majority of people suffer from the same problem. We are sick of using Alt+F4 to exit the game so we can actually hit the mobs or just to get out of combat.
Acknowledge this problem and fix it.

Yes, we do know what the combat bug happens to be -- or at least the result (i.e. you are stuck in combat despite not fighting).
The cause, however, is something difficult to ascertain, as there are a wide variety of factors to review and check.
We're looking into the issue, but it isn't as cut-and-dry as some may believe.

I have answered quite a few, actually, but with recent events I'm afraid they were lost in the tumultuous uproar. ;)
