I didn't know what else to call this post.
Guild Wars' server is down for some maintenance... thought I'd log on to see if I liked WoW still. I'd been logged in 30-40 seconds before I die and the Gadgetzan guards just stand there giving the Alliance the thumbs up.
I try to rez again, die in one hit from a rogue. But there's no sense that anyone has officially noted the problems with the honor system or class balance issues. No sense that a solution is in the works, or is even close.
I'm fed up, Blizzard. I'm dissatisfied with your content, your game makes me *personally* hate the developers (whom I don't even know!), and I am upset with the CM system, but I don't know how to give feedback on it because every post I make encouraging revision or suggestions about the CM system gets deleted.
I'm not personally insulting any of the CMs--that would give them too much reason to delete this post. But I will say that some of them seem far too concerned about locking threads without paying any attention to the content; and that some of their replies are more about establishing authority than about creating a rapport with the community.
But the architecture of the CM system needs attention and it needs it badly. It's an unnecessary middle-step between the developers and the player-base to whom they should be (but seemingly aren't) responsible. There is no transparency of the system which means we are unable to know if our problems are communicated faithfully, or at all.
I don't want to quit. But I do hate the idea that I'm still supporting this. My friends play, and I will miss them. But I am really frustrated that things are this bad, and *more* frustrated that no one cares. Don't tell me I knew what I was getting into by signing onto a pvp server. Actually, no, I didn't have any idea that this "honor system" was coming. I'd heard great things about Blizzard--but you know what? The other day I had a horrible realization. The development, testing, quality, and poor attention to customers' problems make me LONG for the days when Sony Online Entertainment (whose games I have made a blood oath never to play again) at least *pretended* to care.
I'm unhappy, can you tell? On the third try, I actually got the wind rider to send me somewhere, but only because the ?? Alliance groups were busy killing some other poor unfortunate guy.
What do I want? I want acknowledgement. I want Blizzard to say that the honor system is imperfect and will be tinkered with. I want CMs who do more than lock posts, but who provide active and authoritative feedback. If it's not the CMs fault, then I want a systemic change that allows them to do this. I don't want the developers working "2 or 3 versions ahead", I want them fixing the problems that are very close to making me quit well before I will SEE those versions. I want to be able to move my character to a PvE server so that I can get off of the gankfest server. I know we have an email address to use for gm dissatisfaction, but I want a way to voice my opinion about our CMs and the CM system in general.
And y'know, I know I'm gonna get flamed, I know no one on the general board has any pity for me, but I just don't have any other way to express my frustration. I feel like I'm paying to be abused--but that at least I'm being abused with my friends.

We don't feel that the Honor System is in a perfect state, Unmourned. The system itself is a major game mechanic and will receive its share of tweaks, adjustments and polish over the life span of this game. As a matter of fact, we're working to make improvements to nearly every aspect of this game. We've invested years of our lives into creating World of Warcraft, each of us playing our own unique role, and our goal has been, and continues to be, providing as many players as we can with a fun and enjoyable experience. We realize that playing a new MMORPG, which will inevitably see its share of changes, and undergo a series of growing pains can be frustrating to say the least, however, we are doing our very best, and I'm sorry if it appears otherwise.
As far as these boards are concerned, the need to moderate is unavoidable. With that being said, we are increasing the size of our team, which should help to increase the level at which we're able to focus on other aspects of these boards. In any case, I do sincerely hope that, at the very least, you realize that you are acknowledged, and that we truly want your gaming experience to be a pleasurable one.
