Warriors for example, are an extremely durable class that are capable of doing good damage

No no no no no no no

HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO EXPLAIN THIS?

We are NOT an extremely durable class. 90% of the damage in PVP is MAGIC. When 4 mages from the other team run around casting Frost Nova / Blast Wave / Arcane Explosion, no amount of armor helps that. We are as vulnerable as every one else. And surprise, that's what 90% of PVP in this game is.

I'll say it again Kalgan, PLATE ARMOR does not stop MAGIC ATTACKS.

Further, we CANNOT do "good damage" when we are constantly rooted from Frost Nova / Blast Wave / etc. Other classes can still shoot spells or ranged weapons.

Yes, there is magical diminishing returns. Of course it doesn't take 15 seconds to kill a warrior when the whole of PVP is mass AOEing by mages and others, so it's not as though we actually get any benefit because we are dead without doing any damage in the end.

Warriors are fine in 1 v 1 or SMALL group pvp (like 10 v 10 or less) because we can charge and do massive burst damage. However our contribution in large group pvp is extremely small because we can't move and thus we can't hit anything. We take just as much damage as every other class and we don't have that many more hit points - warlocks have comparable hit points and even our 1000-2000 more HP than mages doesn't help much when that's the damage from just a couple AOE spells.

Thank you Romo, and in response to your post, in the situation you describe, no one is a durable class, not just wars. But are you telling me that in a large scale PvP fight, Warriors go down as quickly as any other class, and are only slighty more durable than Warlocks?

I find that not to be the case at all, and you talk about large scale PvP fights, and don't take into consideration contributions of other classes in the battle. You might have 4 mages casting Frost Nova, but isn't it just as likely you'll have 4 rogues stealthing around looking for the mages and priests to take out?

Never once did I witness a Warrior hiding behind a tree because there was a general agreement that Warriors are "worthless" in large scale PvP battles.

Before accusing us of not playing our game, at least check that your accusations have some basis in fact.

Sigh... here is what I've learned from this post:

Warriors need all resistances increased, more powerful ranged attacks and unless they get these, they are not worth playing.

Rogues love the pretty falling fire and ice and run into them with alarming regularity.

Mages are the greatest class of all time and either everyone should play a mage or we should nerf them a lot.

Would that be a fair assessment?

Interestingly enough, during this conversation, I was participating in a mid size raid between TM and SS.

Here is what I found:

The Alliance was happy to just stick to the ranged attack scheme, the melees were too cautious to go on the offensive, and when they did, it was extremely disorganized and the Horde was able to pick them off one at a time.

The Horde on the other hand, used the ranged attackers to soften up the enemy, create chaos, and then the warriors led a frontal assault with their charge, and shaman were close behind.

Needless to say, the Alliance ran back to all the way to SS, and as I write this, they are still running.

Q u o t e:
Ranged attack until "many people died" and then send in the melees to mop up means that the ranged won the fight.

It means the melees sat around and did nothing until the ranged had given a decisive or near decisive advantage.

And then you attack someone else's intelligence...

No, that's what the Alliance was attempting to do, and it failed miserably. My point was, the ranged attackers were working together with melee fighters for maximum effectiveness.
