Subject: Blizzard, what does "World Server Down" mean?
Um, on your realm status it says Uther is UP.

Yet, the world server is DOWN.

You are a very confused bunch of people.

What does World Server down mean then, hmm, if the Realm Status page says Uther is up?

   I'll gladly explain.

A "World Server" is a continent server, such as Kalimdor.

What you're seeing is a realm in the process of being restarted. The realm itself, the data, is live, but the continent servers are not yet ready to accept players.

Thus the realm is technically "up", but not yet available.

Does that make sense?
