Subject: Honor System should be Battlegrounds only
Since Blizzard is unable to implement code to account for some sort of penatly system or deterrant against High-Levels ganking low levels, I think the Honor System and all subsequent rewards should be limited to Battleground enviornments.

It makes no sense to allow people to gain honor like this. Atleast in Battlegrounds everyone there is for the sole purpose of PvP.

You can keep the mindless PvP ganking in the persistant world if you wish on PvP servers. But don't give people incentive to look for other characters tied up with mobs, or LAG, or all the other problems with open PvP in an unstable server system.

Keep the honor system in Battlegrounds. This way the incentive is to go there for the cool stuff, not out in the open persistant world.

With the PvP honor system and battlegrounds, we are going to carefully monitor and analyze player behavior. We are ready to make drastic changes if they are called for. But first, we will monitor and analyze player behavior.

Q u o t e:
Calling it an "Honor" system is a disgrace...

There's no honor to be had in it whatsoever... To be honorable, you have to be able to face dishonor and choose the honorable path...

This is a farce...

Call it a PvP reward system...

Back in beta, when we were testing out the honor system and the Dishonorable kill system, there was a tremendous outcry against it.

We are willing to reconsider our stance, but again, after analysis.

Also, while a dishonor system looks good on paper, more often than not, a dishonor system becomes more about giving another player dishonor points, rather than actual PvP.

That was a main reason we have opted not to allow dishonor points in the current system. But again, I stress we are keeping an open mind on it based on how players deal with the new PvP honor system.

It isn't that we're unable to implement a player vs. player penalty system, it's that we simply wish to avoid having to do so if at all possible. Our goal is provide incentive to players that engage in combat considered fair, rather than punish them for engaging in combat considered unfair. There are number of situations that could arise in which a player might unintentionally defeat another lower level player, such as by being tricked into an unfair combative situation.

With the above in mind, I do think that it's important for me to reiterate that the possibility of implementing a penalty system at some point in the future does exist, however, such won't be determined until long after we've had a chance to analyze all affects, both positive and negative, of the current honor system. Also, it should be understood that the honor system, once released will be its first iteration, and multiple improvements and tweaks will made as we watch closely how it operates in all types of environments, and on all realm types.
