The original 4 hour window was set with a set of parameters which are no longer true. Such as estimating the amount of players generating a certain amount of data per each realm.
Since we vastly overshot that original estimate of players and data generated by players, we had to rethink the window in which to work with.
The community team has been pushing to increase the window for several weeks prior, in fact.
