Well, my aim of this topic is to bring attention to the need of a Linux port of WoW. I among possibly hundreds of others play WoW on Linux and numerous others would like to and are probably dual-booting Windows just for the sake of this game. This is a huge inconvenience and one that is not deserved. I am going to go to other forums and ask all WoW players to post here pledging their request for a Linux port. As posting on this forum requires a pre-paid account of course, you can obviously assume that the people that want to play this game natively on Linux are willing to pay whatever fees there may be as they are already. Now I'm not a game developer or anything but the Macintosh operating system is based on Unix so perhaps it wouldn't be too taxing to create one from that? For now I'd also like to draw your attention to the WoW for Linux petition that was started during the beta phase of this game.

As for suggestions to subscribe to Transgaming's Cedega (www.transgaming.com), I already am. How do you think I play now? However you should realize that emulation will never be as good as the real thing, especially speed-wise. While I admire their efforts and will continue to subscribe if this does get a Linux port, I'd rather play it natively. If you're going to suggest I buy Windows, what do you think my mother uses? Troll somewhere else.
Pending support responses. :P

Guys, we are keeping an eye on the progress of Linux and may decide to develop for the platform in the future, however at this time there are no such plans. Currently we only support our games on the platforms listed on the box/website. There are some issues with Linux that may interfere with a connection to our servers as well. Overall, we do not support the use of our games on Linux. [ post edited by Eyonix ]

Q u o t e: Nice post retard.
Hope you have noticed that things like Cedega (www.transgaming.org) allow emulation on linux of your game and it works fine.
There is no problem connecting via linux and for you to make such a statement is an insult to our intelligence.
Toonman, it is very important that you remain civil when posting on our boards. I never indicated that it was impossible to connect to our servers using Linux, simply that there were some issues, which stands true. As stated in my previous reply, we may decide to develop for this platform at some point in the future, and will make an announcement if such becomes the case.[ post edited by Eyonix ]
