Subject: Mage Down Time
I play a Mage as my main and I wish Blizzard would look at what they can do to reduce our down time.

I understand it is a balancing issue, a Mage pays a price for high damage output, but it's too extreme. I don't mind having a limited mana pool, I don't mind not being able to replace it in combat, I understand if it was unlimited there would be imbalance, but why do I have to spend so much time sitting on my arse between battles. This game is suppose to be quick moving and fun, sitting in some field watching your toon sip water from a bucket does not cut it and I do that for over a minute every 1-2 kills.

Soloing -- This sucks big time, you really feel that you are getting nowhere. It is hard enough tanking for yourself without having to sit still for over a minute before you can even look for the next target.

Group -- It is suppose to be balanced. In other words if it takes me 30 seconds to kill and 30 seconds to replenish mana then it takes a pally or warrior 60 seconds to accomplish the same job. Only it does not work this way. I sit there drinking and the pally, warrior, rogue, whatever is up and saying hurry up every time. I just sit there looking at my half filled bar wondering where the balance is. Part of this is due to the fact that these others don't worry as much about getting back to 100%, but a Mage has to worry, because without mana she is nothing.

I am not asking for a twink to make mages more powerful, faster mana regeneration during non-combat time would have no effect on PvP with the possible exception of large battles. And in large battles the other side would have mages too so it would still be balanced. What I am asking for is a twink to make playing the Mage more enjoyable. Enjoyable in the sense that I want to play this game, not sit on my arse (although considering what I am doing in front of the computer maybe that's debatable). I just do not feel a character should spend a minute or more after every battle just sitting there doing nothing, it's just boring.

Subject: Re: Mage Down Time
When soloing with my Mage I rest for about thirty seconds every two or three mobs depending upon the circumstances of each battle. This downtime is very minimal when you consider that as a Mage, you can kill mobs faster than most other classes. Compare the speed at which you're able to fight three mobs your level one after another and rest up to full health and mana with another class, and see who finishes first. ;)
