Subject: People who play priests: an analysis.
The sad, ironic element of priests is that for high-end instances you almost need the class — the downside is that you have to play with the kind of people who play a priest.

The priests I have consistently encountered (not without exception) have been smug bastards who act like they are the only class critical to the success of the instance run. Constantly flaunting their other group invites, it's like they have a psychological need to hear how much we need them — and won't be happy until then.

I have never played a priest any significant amount of time (never reached double digits in levels). But it seems to me that other classes' appeal is in their fun factor, while the appeal of the priest is their necessity. Those who have a desperate need to be needed play priests.

I disagree with your statements completely, Akaisha. I have many friends and know many here at the studio that have level 60 priests and they in no way act or behave in the manner which you describe. I believe due to the massive scale and nature of an MMO it would be a gross error for anyone to generalize the "type" of person that plays any specific class. From personal experience, when I've played as a Priest, it was due to the enjoyment I receive when operating as a support character.
