Subject: A Call to Tranquility
First let me say that I understand all of you are very frustrated, as am I. It can be difficult to deal with downed servers when you have only a select few hours to play this game in between work, school, sleep, family, etc. I also want to point out that you have every right to be upset over something you pay a lot of hard earned money for every month. Furthermore, I know that a lot of players trusted Blizzard to develop quality games, on time, finished, with a vast amount of satisfaction-- and that this trust is almost irrevocably shattered for many of you in light of these problems that repetitively happen. I agree with you all wholeheartedly, Blizzard I am exceedingly disappointed in the current state of our service, and if all things were equal I would say that what you're doing is completely unacceptable.

That stated, all things aren't equal, and this incessant flame war between the two camps of Blizzard supporters and people who are angry with the company must stop. Derogatory terms such as fanboy (though I was unaware that being a fan of something that has so much potential was negative) are inappropriate. Also, calling the people who are validly angry "little kids" (among many other things) is on par with bad taste. So, to both sides I plead cessation of hostilities.

All of you have extremely relevant points to make, and I'm not the only one who wants to read about them, otherwise these boards wouldn't exist. Lets just share them with each other using some decorum and a touch of restraint on our emotions. Blizzard knows it needs to work on this game, let them do it, keeping in mind that the consumer trust they've lost will take a long time to regain.

Thank you very much for your words.

Folks, Eyonix and I are here with you. We've updated the Server Alert message and I'll tell you that the authentication is backed up a bit (thus making the issue it's having worse) and the server team is on the job.

I know you're frustrated, and yes, I do understand where you're coming from. That understanding does not come from Caydiem the CM who plays WoW. That understanding comes from a gamer who has played these games for 8 years now, who has lived through the anger and exasperation that comes when something you play for entertainment simply isn't working, and there's nothing you can do but speak your mind wherever you feel it will hit hardest.

However, it would help us all -- Blizzard folks and players alike -- if you did not flame here. I know you're angry. I know you want to play the game for which you pay. But insults, flames and trolls don't help the situation. They don't make the authentication issues resolve themselves. If they did, we'd be right there with you, believe me. ;) I understand it can be cathartic, but please... a civil, well-worded post will get much more notice from us here than an angry, rule-breaking thread.

Let's keep things peaceful around here, folks, please.
