Subject: 28/03 ETA on new realms and migration
We figured we'd ease your minds a little with some current ETAs on new realms and migration opening up.

The plan is to open new realms next week. We'll let you know the exact date, number of realms and their names and type as soon as possible so you may prepare the plans for invasion.

We'll let the population on these realms settle a bit and see how many more new realms are needed on short notice before starting with migration. Currently the plan is to start the migration in the second half of April, with the highest populated realms (exclusively PvP realms) getting priority. Details on this will follow as soon as we have the exact schedule nailed down.
That there is one damn fine epic you're wearin'.

Q u o t e:
Still doesn't explain why the Germans have been given priority but finally some information

They had the greatest need for that one realm. Simple as that. And no, it's not just about who has the least or most non-Full realms. It's about total peak concurrency (read: queues) too. ;)

Q u o t e:
If one of the new servers grow a huge population of new characters, could it be possible that you wouldn't use that server for transfers?

Or are you going to use all servers for transfers?

When opening fresh realms (i.e. no initial migration) we hope to never have to migrate players to the realm. However, if the realm turns out to have low population after a long time (can't give a number definition on "long" - sorry) we might open migration to it. I believe it hasn't happened yet, and if we open migration it'll hopefully be from a younger realm, not an older one. No fun working to become the biggest guild on the realm and then have an army of epic specced old-boys arrive. ;)

Frustration building, lack of update upsetting, wake up Blizzard it's next week already.

Relative to the time of this thread being created, it will be "next week" 6 days from now too. ;)

Info will come when it's available.
