If i mail a load of gear from a character, then delete that character before the mail's arrived at its destination, will the gear still go to its addressee, or will it disappear with the character?

Here are some examples to explain what happens:
Character A sends character B an item and directly after sending the item:
Case 1: I delete character A: no problem, character B will still receive the item.
Case 2: I delete character B: The item will be lost, ie: not a good idea.
Case 2: I delete character B and make character C with the same name as character B: The item will be lost, ie: not a very good idea either.
This just in from GM Island:
Case 2: I delete character B: The item will be lost, ie: not a good idea.
Addition:
But if you wait 30 days the mail will return to character A.[ post edited by Aeus ]
