"After reviewing your 24 hour suspension we see no fault in the decision. The suspension stands, and we ask you to please keep a less confrontational tone on the forums in the future."
Are they ever wrong?

Sure we are. We have changed suspensions based on reviewing the case. It's however rare, as our moderators work very much by the rules.
Edit: reviewing[ post edited by Thundgot ]

Q u o t e: Expect the thread to be locked, mine was ... even though I was not flaming Blizzard and just seeking discussion with fellow WoW gamers.
Thundgot said to contact Account Administration, but ofcourse that had been already done ... and they gave no details about the cancellation.
sigh.
Nobody said you were flaming. You were posting second-hand information that may be both biased, selective and manipulated. As exaplained in that thread, for that reason such topics are not for the forums.
Please observe the forum rules, btw:
Q u o t e: Do not post about locked threads.
Posts that are locked have a reason behind the moderation. We generally lock before we post on a locked thread to stop the violation in question as soon as possible, so if you have yet to see a comment by a member of the community team on a locked thread, please wait for it and do not post on the subject.

Q u o t e: it is funny however to look at the subjects of locked threads on the forums.
It's also funny to read such comments as this - a single line insinuating something without any explanation or argumentation.
The locked threads on the first page (75 threads) are all questions answered in other recent threads or in the FAQ, with two exceptions. The two exceptions are account suspension issues which were directed to the correct channel.
What's so funny about it? :p

Ah, my mistake. I also closed the Warlock topic where the participants had become a bit too hostile. It belonged in the PvP forum in the first place anyway.

Q u o t e: I am 'merely' disturbed by loosing a guild mate and friend to this issue.
Understandable. It doesn't make the thread appropriate for the forums though, for the reasons given above.

Q u o t e: of course u have your rules that justify your actions and allow for explanation... all that aside... why didnt blizzard give me an appology for the sarcastic answer of the moderator?
k... i broke the rules. i got my ban. but blizzard only managing to give advice on MY confrontational tone which was just an answer to the moderator's sarcastic tone which U HAVE TO AGREE can be a conflict starter, is just wrong.
I don't think the moderator overstepped the line with that comment, and I don't agree that it was sarcastic. He closed the thread with good reason and posted why it was closed. That he didn't use a copy/paste "Please abide by the forum guidelines" is in my opinion not a problem.

Q u o t e: Would he haved talked like that on the phone?
Community work is rarely carried out by phone. We're a one-to-many team, not a one-to-one team like customer support. One-to-many means more day-to-day casual language than you find in support.
Bottom line is, I (in my position as English language Community Manager for Europe) don't see anything wrong with the comment. End of discussion from my side. Nothing wrong with you disagreeing though, but then we'll just have to agree to disagree.
