It was probably already mentioned, that since 1.9 there are major bugs with gaining proffesion skill (though in sticky only fishing is mentioned).
However, starting new character today I found out very unpleasant fact, that for example First Aid cannot be leveled with linen cloth, hense you cannot lvl it at all. while it is less important for some classes, for some - like mages, rogues and other non-healing classes - it is vital proffesion, the only one that enables you heal while in combat. Differently from other proffesions, leveling FA you cannot skip linen (or other cloth) and level it with other meterials.
I don't know if it is just a character bug and if all new characters experience it, but it is rather serious issue and affects gameplay quite significantly. Any ETA of resolving it?
