12/12 Character Migration (Phase 9)
To continue to alleviate the queues on some of the most populated realms we move on to the ninth phase of migration. This phase starts Monday December 19th and will last until and including Friday December 23rd. Note, however, that we reserve the right to close down or redirect any migration at any time based on the population of the involved realms. Please keep an eye on this thread for updates about the ninth migration phase.
To not increase the load on the database during peak playing hours the migration will be open only between 03:00 and 15:00 CET (GMT/UTC +1) each day.
Note: migration may be shut down on Wednesdays, due to the additional load when a huge amount of players log in after the maintenance. Do not expect to be able to migrate on this day.
The following migration between English realms is part of phase 9:
Skullcrusher --> Emeriss
Warsong --> Emeriss
Crushridge --> Mazrigos
Shattered Hand --> Mazrigos
Burning Legion --> Drak'thul (new realm)
Ravencrest --> Drak'thul (new realm)
19/12 Migration plans for January
First of all, these are plans - it's not settled. ;)
We'll take a break in the migration over the holidays. The first week of January will be used for analysis of the realm numbers and discussions on the plans ahead, so the earliest migration in 2006 is likely to start Monday January 9th. We hope to be able to inform you of the migration plans on January 3rd or 4th.
Wishes (not promises) for future migration are...
- Allow the realms migrating during the two weeks of severe instability on the Account Management pages (phases 7 and 8) another chance. This is likely to take the form of phase 7 migrations running Monday and Tuesday and phase 8 migrations running Thursday and Friday the same week, possibly on January 9th to 13th. The only blocker I can think of right now for this migration is if the destination realms fill up before then.
- Make sure all the relatively new PvP realms gain a healthy population level. As part of this we'll try balance the Alliance / Horde ratio where needed.
- Migration from Argent Dawn and Earthen Ring, most likely to a new RP PvE realm.

16/12 Migration hindered by Quest mails
This is a note to all those players wishing to migrate their character(s).
Due to a technicality migration of a character is not possible if a player has mail in their in-game inbox.
We would like to remind our players wishing to migrate to not complete these quests, as they will result in receiving an in-game mail, thus blocking migration:

I see there is again a migration from Zenedar to another realm and i want to ask this: I want to migrate to Talnivarr which is a low population realm (and migration will be open for there again) but migration from Zenedar is only available to Drak'thul... Is there any possibility I could move my character to Talnivarr instead of Drak'thul? This is not completely crazy since there is going to be a migration for there but only from Deathwing :(
Due to having another opening for the Deathwing and Stormscale migration to Talnivarr we can't add more people to Talnivarr at this point. We would risk filling the realm and thus be forced to cancel the planned migration.

About the mailbox, I assume you'll lose all items in your mailbox, correct?

Quests resulting in a mail being sent block work in the same way as regular mail, only with longer delays on delivery.
