Lately there have been a number of World of Warcraft players who have been on the receiving end of scams. One recent scam comes in the form of a genuine looking email from a non-Blizzard email address requesting account, Credit Card and bank information.
Always be sure to watch who you are giving your bank, Credit Card and account information to. All of Blizzard's emails will come from an @blizzard.com domain name, and Blizzard will never ask for your full bank information via email. To help avoid scams, try follow some simple rules of thumb:
Never send bank information via email
Never give out your account password to anyone. Blizzard staff will never ever ask you for this under any circumstances.
Never send any account information to a non blizzard email address
Always maintain up-to-date firewall and anti-virus software
It is always better to contact Blizzard directly if there is any doubt. If you receive an email which you are unsure of, or need to discuss billing information with someone from Blizzard, you can always contact us by phone or email.
