For the love of Uther, ADD A BACKDOOR TO SCHOLO!
All I want is my damn hat!
I was just grouped with a priest who has made 42 runs without even SEEING a devout crown. Tonight was 43. Our paladin had seen the seen Lightforge twice and lost both, he said he had run about 30-40 runs.
My hunter friend ran it 29 times for Beaststalker to drop for him.
When I got back and ranted a while in general chat, I recieved 2 tells.
1st "Shut up"
2nd "I know what ya mean man, I counted 55 runs for my Valor Helm and a week later I got a better one from MC."
FIFTY-FREAKIN-FIVE!
I realize this is likely a strategy to keep people playing at end-game...but this is ridiculous.
I personally DREAD these numbers and I'm nowhere near them yet.
Here's my count to date:
5 Dreadmist (4 were in a row and I've hated warlocks since)
4 Magister (3 were in a row)
3 Wildheart (all were in a row)
3 Lightforge
1 Valor
0 Devout
0 Shadowcraft
0 Beaststalker
It's 2-3 hours per run and thats 10-manning the most hellish instance in the game. The hardest one (short of Onyxia or the Core) with the worst rewards. And clearing 6 bosses who drop garbage to reach 1 who drops something worth while?
Honestly, if all of Scholo were removed from the game and the loot moved elsewhere, I don't think anyone would miss it.
East Stratholme has great rewards and can be done in the time it takes just to PREPARE a Scholomance group since nobody ever wants to run the dreaded Scholo.

In the 1.6.0 Patch (Blackwing Lair patch) there will be some pretty significant changes made to the spawn density of Scholomance. It should be much quicker to clear than it currently is. Also, we added a Graveyard to Caer Darrow so if you die, you're much closer to your corpse.
We also made some more adjustments to Stratholme that will go live in the 1.6.0 patch. We made some of the pulls in the Scarlet side easier to handle with 5 man groups. We also put the Ghouls in the guantlet on the normal respawn time (2 hour) and reduced the overall number of Gargoyles. We think we fixed the In Combat bug with the Ziggurauts as well.
Lastly, if you fail to Rivendare or Ramstein, you'll be able to try again -- the back gate and doors to the Slaughterhouse will open.
Our goal is to have these dungeons playing as fun as possible for 5 man groups.

We've had reports of this, but we can't reproduce the issue 100%... at the very least, I am able to toggle Araj and the crystals without issue. The way it should work is that if Araj is up, the crystals are down. If any of the crystals are up (1-4), then Araj will not be up. The crystals respawn in about an hour if someone doesn't knock all 4 down and spawn up Araj.
If all 4 crystals are down as well as Araj not being spawned, by all means let us know. I'll make sure it gets QA attention. Feedback on this is always welcome.

You're not a jerk at all for linking previous posts on the issue - thanks for the information. I just tested this again internally, and it worked out. This isn't to say that the issue doesn't exist, obviously, but I can't seem to duplicate the conditions where I get it to happen.
I've asked QA to really pick at it in ways I can't and get back to me with anything they find. Likewise, I'll keep at it on my end. If you (or anyone reading) has more information on this issue - especially now that 1.6.0 is live - by all means please let us know.

Hey folks, I just wanted to give you an update on the crystals in Andorhal. QA spent a good deal of time working on this and they were able to reproduce the issue, albeit inconsistently. Most of the time we didn't have an issue, but every once in a while the crystals and Araj would break down.
We in design went ahead and made the call to change how it all works completely; the fact that this bug was manifesting itself - even inconsistently - is something we really want to squash. Internally, the crystals have been removed all together; Araj will be up consistently. When Araj is killed, he will respawn in 10-15 minutes. Also, the quests that reference the event have been changed so that the crystals are no longer mentioned.
These changes should reach you in two patch cycles. Until then, I apologize to anyone who gets bitten by this frustrating bug. Should anyone have any additional information on this, by all means let us know. Thanks![ post edited by Graccus ]

Howdy folks - one more update. We were able to get some of the key parts to the changes hotfixed! Huzzah!
This means that the crystals should no longer be spawning as of right now, and Araj will be up. Araj has a 10-15 minute respawn when he dies; when he dies his death still brings in his phylactery. The changes aren't exactly the same as to what I've done internally, but it should get the ball rolling on those log-jammed quests.
Again, I'm sorry folks were inconvienenced by this issue wherever it reared its ugly head. If you run across any addiitional information now that the hotfix is live, please share it with us - the GMs and the community folks are the best place to start!
