Just an FYI to keep posting beyond 1.7 for changes to be made that require a tree reset since it will be so UBER when it does come out.
the enemy from within is the one to watch for!

I was told that Druids and Hunters were next up, that Hunters were getting a comprehensive review and that Druids would have their talent trees reviewed as well -- primarily Feral Combat, but the other two would be looked at as well. Note the word review. That is the word I have consistently used to describe what the designers were doing throughout this process. Hunters were a little higher on the priority list. As it turned out, time was limited (despite what you may believe, we do have to set a cutoff point on patches). The major Hunter review went in.
The Hunter changes came out and they were received very well. It's only natural to assume that Druids would get something similar (despite the fact that I had said repeatedly that Hunters would be getting something far more all-encompassing). Rumors ran amok. Understand that I cannot debunk rumors when I either 1) don't have the information myself or 2) am not cleared to give that information.
Now, I've stated it several times in this thread and I'll do so again -- there are significant Druid changes -- particularly to Cat Form -- in this patch. You're not being ignored. But never once did I say that a significant overhaul of the talents would come in 1.7. Even that post in which you quote me is asking if Druids will be getting changes, to which I reply that, yes, they will be getting changes. That is not a lie. What I do apologize for is letting assumptions run for so long, but there's little I can do in most cases.

Here's what happened in our office.
I was planning -- and going through the motions -- of getting specific information regarding Druid changes out to you before they hit the Test Realm. At this point, I knew that talent changes weren't going to be in, but was holding off so I could say, "No talent changes, but here's what WILL be in."
Last night while I was working on something else, Eyonix asked me casually if talent changes for Druids would be in 1.7, and I said no.
Then there was a post, which I frantically scrambled to clarify.
I've since talked with Eyonix about the delivery and such. I apologize that there is now this gap between the bad news and the good -- this is not how I'd hoped to deliver it to you. :|[ post edited by Caydiem ]

Q u o t e: Yea, because, of course, you have no ability to post, & so can't say anything when rumors run amuck.
Or, maybe it's because the various CMs -- you & Fangtooth in particular -- are too busy responding to nonsense fluff while ignoring serious issues.
Yea, sure. Nothing you can do to stop the rumors. Right. It's precisely this sort of treatment that has most impelled me to cancel my account. Perhaps when Blizzard grows up & learns how to treat customers, I'll be back. Maybe.
Hakuna, you have the ability to drive your car on the wrong side of the road. There are dire consequences for doing so, and they're practically all negative. Therefore, most people sensibly drive on the right side of the road.
I have the ability to post a number of things. My hands are tied by the bonds of PR, aspects that may well change the next day, and general community reaction to such changing information. Breaking those bonds results in dire consequences. Sensibly, I follow the policies under which I work.
When I have information to give you, I do. If I don't have the information -- or clearance -- to debunk a rumor, I can't. Simple as that.

All right, folks, I've confirmed that I should be able to post the Druid changes this evening. (That's evening PDT. :P)
Now, I'll say right off that the post doesn't have a lot of hard numbers in it, so speculation (and probably a good bit of skepticism) will no doubt be present amongst you. What I can tell you, without doubt, is that every last one is a positive change to the class (Cat Form in particular). I do also have some small information of what's coming up afterwards.
Why can't I post it now? It's those bonds I referred to earlier -- our international teams need to be informed as well, as they have their own communities to manage. It'll be up today, though. :)

Wrong, Flynx.
Patches have internal schedules. It's ludicrous to think that we just stuff everything we can into a patch, pick an arbitrary time when we say "No more!" and start the testing process. We do follow that schedule.
Now, there is a class team. This team was working on changes for Hunters and Druids. Hunters were higher priority, and were finished first. Druids did get some changes in, but not talent changes, before time was "up".
I was not informed of this until later. Keep in mind that my job is public relations. I play a Druid. Which, as a player, sounds better to you? "No talent changes this patch. Sorry!" or "No talent changes, but here's a list of the positive changes for your class in this patch, and what's coming up beyond." I know which one I'd rather come to the forums and see as a player. I'm fairly certain most of you would agree.
But there's an inherent problem with such a choice; it's not as easy as you might first suppose. We have international community teams that need to be informed of any major bits of information we give ahead of time, as they like to keep their own communities informed. So the choice was this: post "Nope, no talent changes" now, beat down the flames, and post "Here are the changes you will be getting" later, thus causing significant dissent, or posting the whole shebang in one fell swoop a little later, debunking the rumors and giving Druids something to hope for all at once?
I opted for the latter and began going through the motions to do just that. Unfortunately the other option was chosen for me last night, and I've been doing what I can with what I have.
I'm not afraid you'd "walk" -- it's a matter of respect and understanding what I, as a Druid player, would rather read on the forum if I was looking for information on 1.7 that pertained to me. It's not about money but about managing the community, which is my job.
