Subject: Blue, need assistance, saved to an instance.
Please see my original thread tha I posted in the Technical support forum.

FYI.. I'll post my original question below, with reponses by blizzard tech support.

Hello,

I need an explanation on why an MC farming group that didn't kill anything other than trash mobs would be saved to an instance.

Is there any written policy that explains when and how you are saved to an instance? We were saved when the raid was leaving, and it appears that we were saved at exactly midnight. The save occured during an idle period when nothing was being killed.

NOTE: No bosses were attempted or killed. Only the first set of trash mobs.

Genjurosan,

You are saved to an instance anytime you take down a boss. Unfortunately this is not a technical issue so you should try reposting this in the Customer Service Forum.

   Hello Genjurosan,

While I am not aware of the exact circumstances behind your raid and raid issue I will elaborate possible other ways to be saved to a Raid ID.

While it is true that a group will not be saved to their raid instance until they kill the first boss this does not mean there are not other ways to obtain an already saved raid ID. If while part of a group you zone into a raid zone, where the group leader is saved to that raid instance, then you will be assigned the Raid ID of that leader. Thus one can be saved to an ID of a raid instance just by grouping with saved players. Keep in mind that just because you were fighting trash in Molten Core that it doesn't mean there wasn't a defeated boss in that instance. The trash in such instances respawns even if the bosses do not.

A further way to be saved to a Raid ID involves interacting with certain objects. This does not apply to your case but I mentioned it for completeness.

I am sorry to hear that you were saved to an ID you didnt want to be part of. I recommend being very careful in the future whenever you zone into a raid instance and consider whether you want to be locked into that group.
Half King of Beasts + half Monarch of the Skies = ?
