Subject: Limited Restorations?
I know there are a limited number of restorations a player can ask for. I'm wondering what constitutes a 'use' of said restores. I am concerned that I have used a few, unknowingly.

Situation 1: After a server rollback, my priest had lost her cooking skill, but retained the ability to make basic campfires, and the trainer would not talk to me. Did requesting she get cooking back use one?

Situation 2: My warlock did not show up on the master loot list after an Onyxia kill, and could not receive her helm. My GM submitted a ticket, I was asked if I wanted to use one of my limited restores, I said yes, but nothing ever came of it. Three weeks later, Onyxia dropped the helm again, and I received it off the kill. Did I use one of my restores, even if nothing happend with the GM?

I don't intend to make a habit of needing restored items/characters, but don't want to suddenly find out that I'm out of luck if something significant happens. Thanks for your time.

Evenin' Tinky. There are certain situations where we will restore virtual property to players without the usage of a limited restoration. In most cases, we will attempt to confirm you'd like to use a limited restoration prior to restoring the property.

The first situation you've noted was resolved without the usage of a limited restoration request due to the circumstances of the case. The second situation sounds as though it was never conclusively resolved based on your report. With the information you've provided, I've been unable to further research the circumstances behind this situation; however, I can verify that no limited restoration was used in this case either. I hope that helps. ; )

Q u o t e:
For clarification purposes though, if it was due to an in-game bug because you werent showing in the master loot list, this should not result in a limited restoration due to no fault of your own right?

In the event that an item is unable to be assigned due to the rightful owner not appearing on the Master Looter list, we would prefer it if the item were simply left on the corpse, and a petition submitted as quickly as is possible; in that situation, a limited reimbursement need not be used in order to address the issue. If, however, an item is inadvertently misassigned to another player -- regardless of the circumstances -- the intended owner shall be asked to use one of their account's restorations in order to have it redistributed.
That's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit...
