I am writing here because I have been unable to receive an adequate response regarding a loot issue my guild recently encountered which Blizzard has made worse this week while apparently trying to help us.
Here's the story. I led an MC run two weeks ago. An Aurastone Hammer dropped. It was masterlooted to the wrong player (should have gone to Rajaat but went to Delira). It was our mistake and we felt terrible.
Several of us petitioned Blizzard about this mistake, including our GM and the two players involved. Blizzard GMs told us in no uncertain terms that there was nothing that could be done and the matter was finished.
Unhappy, we accepted our situation and moved on.
Subsequently, we ran MC again last week and the Aurastone Hammer dropped again. This time, we took it upon ourselves to right our previous mistake and the hammer was looted to the player who missed out on it initially (Rajaat).
Several days after that, and well more than a week after refusing to take any action initially, Blizzard apparently changed its mind and decided to "restore" the original Aurastone Hammer to the player initially should have received it (Rajaat). The problem is, now we have one player (Delira) with no Aurastone Hammer and another who has two (Rajaat).
I petitioned this issue in game today and received a response from Svarena indicating that the two players involved needed to check their emails regarding this topic. The player whose hammer was removed received the following answer via email today:
Answer: We will no longer be able to swap this item any further. If this player wishes to keep the item he may do so. If he needs to remove it from the mail he has the option of selling his current item to a vendor and the pulling this item out of the mail or letting the mail expire. I am sorry we are unable to assist further in this issue.
There has to be a better response than this. We were told and relied upon Blizzard's representation that the item would not be restored from its original owner (Delira) to its rightful owner (Rajaat). We relied upon Blizzard's representation in subsequently awarding Rajaat the next Aurastone Hammer that dropped the following week. Now we have a player with two of them and a player with none.
Please correct this problem. If Blizzard had simply either stuck with its original position and refused to "restore" the hammer or been more openly flexible about helping us correct our mistake, there wouldn't be this problem now. Our current problem arises solely out of Blizzard saying one thing, that it would not "restore" the hammer, and then subsequently, and several days later, going ahead and "restoring" the hammer, only to cause more problems.

Hi Crob,
I apologize regarding the overall consequences of the delay in the assistance with this item. I have forwarded this issue on to ensure it gets corrected and that your guildmates each end up with one (and only one) hammer. Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention. I wish you and your guild the best of luck with your future adventures in Molten Core.

Q u o t e: In addition I would like to point out, that while the people involved are waiting on resolution of this issue, they have passed on various weapon upgrades based on the Blue response to this post. It would be wonderful to get some final resolution on this so that the person involved can move on, either with or without this item. Being in limbo is no fun, as I'm sure everyone can understand.
Thanks for your time,
++Band
Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this. It seems there were problems managing to get in contact with one of the players involved in this particular situation. From what I understand now that has been overcome and your issue should be resolved in the near future. Good luck in the Molten Core.
