Subject: Character Models
I'm curious on Blizzard's stance on player-side manipulation of the character models eg. making a gnome look like an undead. I have checked the main website and TOS hoping to find a suitable answer, and the nearest thing I can find to my query is:

"Malicious UI Modifications

We definitely want people to create their own UIs utilizing custom menu configurations, graphics, and even sounds. Anything that can be coded to modify the style and the look of the UI is fair game, as long as the modifications are done to the sanctioned internal files of the game. However, anything done to the UI to gain any sort of an unfair advantage over other players is unacceptable.

If a player is found to have modified a UI so that they gain an unfair advantage in the game over others, he/she may:

* Be temporarily suspended from the game
* Have further action taken, up to and including account closure, based on the intent of the modification "

This seems to imply that Blizzard's stance on this matter is that it too is fair game so long as it is only a player-side anomally for the purposes of self-enjoyment, but before I begin barking up that tree I would like to receive a proper response regarding it.

Thanks for your time,
Seii~

   Seii,

This may be the most pertinent section from the Terms of Use concerning the matter:

Q u o t e:
C. You agree that you will not (i) modify or cause to be modified any files that are a part of a World of Warcraft installation; (ii) create or use cheats, "mods", and/or hacks, or any other third-party software designed to modify the World of Warcraft experience; (iii) use any third-party software that intercepts, "mines", or otherwise collects information from or through World of Warcraft; or (iv) allows players who are playing characters aligned with the "Alliance" faction to chat or otherwise communicate directly with players who are playing characters aligned with the "Horde" faction, or vice versa. Notwithstanding the foregoing, you may update World of Warcraft with authorized patches and updates distributed by Blizzard, and use authorized Third Party User Interfaces as set forth in Section 13(g), below.

The changing of character models may very well be in direct violations of this section, and I would strongly advise against such modification. The World of Warcraft is designed with the intention of the models used within the game to be displayed to our customers. If a change to a model is deemed necessary or appropriate by our design team it will be made.

The proper place to pursue changes made to a model would be to provide the details on our Suggestions Forum, as this is monitored closely by our designers and developers - not by altering the game files to reflect such a change.
