Subject: Confusion over the naming policy

These naming policies are summarized on the World of Warcraft website at:

http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/?id=agm01722p

However the key word there is summarized. It is not the full system used to determine whether a name adheres to our naming policies.

The full Naming policy can be found here: http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/?id=agm01722p

Which of those statements is currently correct? More importantly, where can one obtain the complete policy on player, guild and pet names?
Caution: Contents have been known to be sarcastic.

The short answer, Rishathara, is that both Kaone and Batta are correct. While the Naming Policy featured on our official website is, indeed, "full" in the sense that it encompasses the guidelines to which players are required to adhere, one must consider that they are still merely that: guidelines, not hard-and-fast rules. I believe Kaone was saying that the policies listed at that URL are but the foundation on which our internal processes may be built, and that each situation is examined on a case-by-case basis; there are shades of grey which must be considered, in addition to a number of other factors, before any determination is made. I hope that has been of some clarification, friend. :)
Look at my works, ye mighty, and despair...
