Recently I finaly hit neutral and was alloud to obtain my first nozdormu ring. In a rush to go get it (i had bwl to go run to) I quickly clicked compleate quest without paying any attention to what I was doing and recieved a warrior ring. I contacted a gm asap and got the normal run around response that I can change it at exaulted. I think i worked way to hard on obtaining that rep to have to wait another few months to get that ring. I feel its unfair that my two second retarded mistake should be punished in that manner. Why can't a gm simply change it for me?
Note: I know they have the power to do such a thing there just is no action willing to be made.

What the Game Master told you was correct. You must stay with the same path choice until reaching Exalted in reputation. At that point as you have mentioned there is a method by which you can exchange rewards. While I understand that it was a mistake you did not intend to make unfortunately this ring is not able be exchanged in the same way other quest reward choice mistakes often. This is because there is a key difference with this quest. I will try to go into that for you.
The difference can be seen when compared to the example of the Onyxia head reward. In this example upon the quest completion you are given a range of quest rewards to choose between. Whether you pick one or the other you still complete the same quest. In this lies the difference. With your Signet Ring of the Bronze Dragonflight you mistakenly chose to undertake the incorrect quest line. There are three quest lines, The Path of the Protector, The Path of the Invoker and The Path of the Conqueror. Each of these quests lead up through the reputation ranks and provide the improved rings. Even if hypothetically you somehow got one of the rings from the other paths you would still be on The Path of the Protector version's quest series. This means when it is time to rank up to the next reputation level's version you will be stuck - unable to turn in The Path of the Protector ring in order to receive the improved version.
Due to the foreseen desirability to change Paths at a later time an in-game system was put in place to change Paths and rings once you reach Exalted. Using this one can go around the quest chain you initially undertook.
I hope this helps to explain. I wish you the best of luck with reaching Exalted with the Bronze Dragonflight and apologize that there isn't a way before this reputation rank for us to be able to change your quest chains for you. Good luck.

I've read countless threads about this issue, yet still no real fix.
I lagged out while reading the description for the first ring listed (not even in alphabetical order, duh!) and somehow (I don't remember clicking "Yes" to anything) ended up with the wrong ring.
I should be able to get exalted within a month or so - but getting 45 scarabs? Why? Why? Why? No way I'm ever going to get that from my guild. Make me pay gold or something. Whatever.

I explained this above in quite a bit of detail. The only point in the quest chain that would be "safe" to make such an exchange is at Exalted. If a ring was exchanged at a lower reputation then the character wouldn't be able to upgrade it through reputaton increases as the character wouldn't have the correct quest or the quest component to be able to do so.

Once your character reaches Exalted with the Brood of the Nozdormu, you can head back to Anachronos. This time after offering you the final ring upgrade you can speak with him in order to change rings between the different Paths. He has materials he requires for this exchange but you can indeed swap rings back and forth.
