Subject: Support? Lost item (Customer getting angry)
My warrior was finishing up "The Mithril Kid" quest in Gadgetzan, and had two Heavy Mithril Breastplates and the Orante Mithril Gloves in my backpack.

In completing the quest instead of taking both of the breastplates from my backpack, it took the one I was wearing (enchanted) and left me with one in my backpack.

I sent in a ticket, explaining all of this. I wandered around Gadgetzan for a bit, got bored and update the ticket with current server time. Wander around watching everyone dueling for an hour. Nothing yet from support, and log in a character that isn't missing his chest armor for a bit. When I log back in he has mail saying 'check my e-mail'.

What my e-mail says is, come here and check, don't reply to their e-mail. Is this what they call support?

   Hello Randel,

When completing a quest that has wearable components the pieces you are wearing will indeed register towards the quest. When such a quest is turned in preference is currently not given towards the items in your bags. This means a component you are wearing may be selected and "turned in". What I believe the email you were sent was trying to get across was that this particular situation is currently known about and any changes in this functionality will be announced on the World of Warcraft website or forums.

I am sorry that you lost your enchant on your breastplate and apologize the enchant was not able to be restored by the Game Master. As a workaround for similar quests in the future you can temporarily place in your bank the matching piece that you do want to keep. Just leave it there until you have handed in the quest.

Q u o t e:
So on top of losing +3 stats on my chest armor, I lost 5 hours of my sunday afternoon. Who may I contact about the quality of the system that customer service personel work under.

I am not angry at the staff of the support department, but at the system that they use.

I would recommend two separate courses of action. Firstly I would suggest you email wowgmfeedback-us@blizzard.com regarding this issue and your criticisms on the assistance you received over it. The second thing I would also recommend is that you make a post on the Suggestions Forum regarding the mechanics of this system and your thoughts on how such equipable quest component turn-ins would be better handled.
