Subject: So I'm legally changing my name and...
I'm getting married, and will be taking my husband's family name.

My WoW account is under my maiden name.

I forsee ten kinds of hell if I get hacked and ZOMG, THE LAST NAMES DON'T MATCH. I can see CC billing or trying to do a paid toon transfer being drama because ZOMG, THE LAST NAMES DON'T MATCH.

I know it's Blizzard's policy not to change account names. Is there an exception when the owner has actually gone and legally changed their name?

   Hello Maeven,

After you have legally changed your name I would recommend that you get in contact with our Billing Department and inquire into the possibility of updating your account information. They would be best able to answer this question as well as indicate what documents you would need to provide. The contact details for the Billing Department are:
  • Phone Support
    1 (800) 592 5499 (1-800-59-BLIZZARD)
    Automated 24 hours
    Live Representative Mon-Fri, 9AM-6PM (PST)

  • Email Support
    Billing@Blizzard.com
