Subject: GM contacted me Via e-mail about my Restore!!
   My account was hacked into on June 22, 2006 (was only a 3 hour window period). I took all of the required steps to get it handled ASAP by mailing in and faxing in the Account Retrival Form. Its been nearly 4 weeks now but.....lastnite after opening an in-game ticket to check on the status of my account restoration process, I received an email from the In-game GM stating:

Greetings Slickchris,

Thank you for contacting the World of Warcraft Game Master Department.

Each account is permitted a limited number of instances in which the GM staff
will assist with property recovery. We do not wish to encourage career victims,
nor will we penalize players who legitimately make the occasional slip-up.
Restoration of any kind is not guaranteed. While we will make every effort to
verify and restore your loss, the decision to go forward with a restoration is
entirely at Blizzard's discretion. If you repeatedly make decisions that result
in lost property, we reserve the right to refuse restorations.

For further information please check our Restoration Policy located at

Please consider carefully whether the character(s) lost is important enough to
you to warrant using one of your very limited requests. If you still wish for us
to restore the character, please submit a new petition the next time you are
online with the following information:

- Character Name

- Realm your character is on

- Level, Class and Race of the Character

- Acknowledgement that you would like to use one of the limited restorations
available to restore the character.

I was very excited and I talked to them again today just to be told the same old line "your account is still pending investigation, we will get back to you as soon as we find something out". What kinda stuff are you guys trying to pull??? Its been almost 4 weeks and still nothing has been done.

My next QUESTION IS, Who here has had their account restored and how long did it take??? As of now, I have not heard of any success story of people getting their accounts back. I am starting to lose hope in Blizzard and pondering just quiting this game.

   It is not necessary to submit any additional petitions about this matter, Slickchris. I understand that you may be anxious for an updateon the status of your account investigation, but our Game Master staff will not be able to provide you with any updates in regards to this matter.

I have verified that the investigation into your account is currently underway; but I would ask you to continue to remain patient. You will be notified by e-mail as soon as the Investigation Team is able to provide you with more information. In the meantime, I'm very sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused and wish you the very best.

   To clarify, Slick, your account is currently in-queue to be addressed by our Account Investigators; while it is possible that the analysis itself is already occurring, it is more likely that your number, so to speak, has not yet been called. All the same, your patience is truly appreciated. If any additional information becomes available to me, I'll let you know. :)
