Kay, so i was in Gaz the other day on my 44 mage, just doin the usually yahno?
So anywho, as always, there are 2-3 ppl up on top of the inn. (Its pretty easy to get up there) I myself climb up, and once tried to cast a few spells, but the guards simple shot me down off the roof and i ended up being a very dead un-dead.
Normally, i dont have a problem with rooftop sniping (I slowfalled onto the RR stable roof and caused some hell :D ) but this is what i do have a problem with: Not being able to fight back.
So back to gaz, I see a hunter up on the roof, and i deside to climb up there and say hello. Well, lo and behold, the second i get up there, he feignes dead and THEN sends his cat at me. His big red beastmaster kitty at me. I am faced with a problem. I can either die, and give this fool a free HK, I could fight back, and aggro the guards and get a durability death (for the cat NOR the hunter got guard aggro because of the FD) or i could run like a wuss.
I survived, but i lost my dignity.
Point in case, A: Is rooftop sniping legal, and B: Please do somthing about hunters FDing and then sending pets at you without any guard aggro. This expliot is a major problem, because the victim has no way to fight back. Free "honor" kills.
Explain to me WHAT i can do in the future to combat this, or at least give me a reason WHY this is not fixed/ a suspendable offence.
Owdned crits your thread for 2572 damage.
It dies.

It was not my intention to "ignore" you, Owdned, and did not mean to give that impression. I merely wished to look into this matter a bit before responding. My apologies. :)
To answer your first question, initiating combat while within a neutral town in such a manner as to avoid guard aggression is, indeed, considered to be an exploitation of game mechanics. So long as guards are able to retaliate against your actions, you're square; but attacking others without any fear of reprisal is where the issue arises. Report these players via in-game petition under the category of "Harassment," and we shall investigate further; if we are able to verify their activities, we shall take all appropriate actions.
As for your second question, my testing indicates that guards in neutral towns ignore Feign Death and attack you regardless once you've drawn their ire; while in Gadgetzan, I attempted to attack another player, and, once I'd gotten the Goblins' attention, used Feign Death. They continued to beat me senseless, so I fail to see how this could be used as an "exploit" of any kind. Additionally, once a hunter's pet is in combat, the hunter him- or herself shall be put in combat, so it should not be possible to lay traps even after having Feigned. If you believe to have experienced otherwise, please feel free to offer the specifics of the case to our Quality Assurance representatives in the Bug Report Forum. :)

Q u o t e: Aha thanks then, sorry bout that post in teh "Daily life of a blizz" thread :P
Anyways, what i ment was, this hunter was on the rooftop, and feigned deadth BEFORE sending his pet to attack. His pet would eventually get killed, but he would get off scot free!
I do not believe that this was as a result of his using Feign Death, Owdned, given the evidence I've been presented; there are, however, currently some inconsistencies in guards' reactions to players who initiate combat nearby, which we're in the process of investigating and hope to address in a future content patch. Thanks for your patience, friend. :)
