I want to know if Rooftop Camping is against the rules...every server seems to have mixed feelings about this.
If we could just get an answer it would stop alot of the forum spam that goes on about it.

Xeok,
From my observation the confusion stems from 'rooftop camping' not being defined. We have no 'Rooftop Camping Policy', however we do have a Exploitation and Client/Server Manipulation Policy (http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/?id=agm01716p#agm): Q u o t e: Abuse of Game Mechanics
The distinction between exploiting bugs and abusing game mechanics is a fine one. While bug exploitation involves the abuse of what is essentially a programming mistake, the abuse of game mechanics is the act of taking advantage of the limitations of the World of Warcraft game systems. Since the line between the sanctioned use and the abuse of game mechanics is sometimes unclear, we prefer to educate players before taking any action against the account being used.
This category includes using/distributing game mechanics in a manner unintended by their design that:
- Damages another character, their gameplay, the service itself and/or its economy
I would say that there are definitely occurrences whereby a player will place their character in an area that guards cannot properly reach in a PvP situation; this would be a violation of the policy I quote above. Any such instances of this should be reported to a member of the Game Master staff via the in-game petition system by selecting the red question mark (?) on the bottom control panel, under the category 'harassment'. A Game Master will then address the petition as soon as possible, and will take the appropriate action(s) to ensure that the World of Warcraft is a fun, fair and safe environment.
Hopefully I've clarified this topic a bit. :)

Q u o t e: So basically any place that you dont have to exploit to get to is fine to kill people from? :D
Allow me to further clarify with a scenario! =D
Let's say a player is in a PvP situation in the opposing faction's city, and then let us further assume that the player's character has been placed on top of specific piece of geometry, where the guards to not 'recognize' the player - however this same player is able to freely make attacks against the opposing faction without receiving proper attention from the city guards. This would be a violation of the policy I mention in my above post, and could very well result in loss of game time.
Please note that similar scenarios may also result in disciplinary actions - as it is not playing inline with the design and mechanics of the World of Warcraft; thus creating an unfair advantage over other players.
