Subject: This should be fixed by a GM? Why not?
I had a quest related issue. My partner and I are doing the Jame lvling guide together. It works very well. We are doing every quest it says to do. So we go into ULDA and complete the The Platinum Disc quest. Go to Ironforge she gets the follow ups which ends in the quest Seeing what Happens with a item.

Leading up to ULDA there are alot of prequests for quests to ULDA as you all know. It takes alot of time.

She is happy after a fairly unpopular instance with a crap group. So I try and do the same....The server lagged. I got disconnected I tried to log back in no turn in NPC ? no xp no items no nothing. So I put in a report with the GM. I carefully looked at the catagory's. Below is what they are:

Quest/Quest NPC

In this catagory is what it says.

The following are examples of Quest/Quest NPC issues:

*A quest related NPC or objects is not functioning appropriately
*Unable to acuire quest related items
*Quest creep not dropping a required quest item

I think to myself wow perfect. The first two points are exactly my problem a GM will solve this for me. I should of known better with previously denied requests for legitmate reasons. Below is the response I got.

Q u o t e:
Greetings,

Thank you for contacting the World of Warcraft Game Master Department.

We are aware of the possible database reverts that may potentially occur when a server is abruptly taken offline. We are aware of the issue and we are currently looking into a resolution. Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to restore items, experience, skill points, or money that may be lost as a result of database reverts. Please know that we make every effort to assist in the recovery of items lost in this fashion, but there are times when restoration is not possible.

Please remember that restorations are NOT always guaranteed. For further information please check our Restoration Policy located at (http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/?id=agm01724p)

You can also check our forums (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/forums/) where you can discuss game issues with other players.

Thank you again for contacting us.

*** Please do not respond to this email as all conversations on this matter would be best handled online.

It says to have a look at the forums so here I am wondering and asking for a answer why this problem, little as it may be, is not fixed?

Kamakiri, I regret to say that when a realm becomes unstable and is abruptly unavailable there is a small period of time that may become lost. This is referred to as a 'database revert'. Information lost in this matter (such as items, experience points, etc.) is unable to be restored. This isn't because we don't wish to; it is simply that the information is lost - as it was not 'saved'.

I apologize that this is a situation your character has encountered, and I hope that this isn't a situation your character is put in again in the future.
. . .if you kill what you love, you're damned.
