Ok, this is a rant, so 90% of the readers will stop here. I also will regret posting this tomorrow and expect no positive feedback (quite the contrary actually). It is also pointing out problems with blizzard so it will be locked or deleted probably within 15 minutes, and will probably get me banned because god forbid I say blizzard needs to get their act together.
First up is the recent blurr thing. He wants to point out that there are problems with vanish. No blizz people read the rogue forums (3 pages w/o any blue posts told me this) and general forum is where most of the cool devs reside it seems. So, he thought he would use general to post this.
Now, if he just posted it, everyone, including blues, would say, "where's your proof." Lucky for blurr, he thought of that ahead of time and put together a video and some images. When he posts this, his thread get's locked because according to tseric "All videos and various other media should be posted in Off-Topic. The topic was not really the issue, just the medium."
This tells me that it's alright to point out there are problems with blizzard's game as long as they give blizzard a way to say "pics or it didn't happen." So great, now we can post problems and the CMs can say "we can't recreate it, so it's not a bug."
Another thing, I can't help but notice that you rescended(sp?) the whole temp item buffs persist through zoning because of technical problems, yet you decided to fix an issue with the wrong sound effect being played? I noticed you did this with a fish not making the right sound effect when moved in inventory a while back.
I also noticed you decided to make mounts blue and purple. What possible gameplay purpose can this serve? (seriously, i would actually like to know, not that anyone will get this far)
Nice to see you guys are fixing the important issues of making the game sound and look nice and ignoring the problems that might take money and effort to fix to improve (most temp item buffs require time or money to be spend to aquire them). It doesn't matter how amazing your car looks or sounds, if it doesn't run right people will still say your car sucks.
And finally, I couldn't help but notice how many of your servers are down, and you offer no explanation that I could find on the login page. It also took me about an hour to get on the forums and still didn't find an explanation. CM's aren't involved in the technical procedures of getting servers back up so they should still be able to post what is going on.
If you've read this far, you are probably one of those whose server is down or one who is waiting for a raid that will be ruined by lag later tonight. Or your just someone who enjoys these sorts of posts. If you didn't make it this far, your someone who doesn't care, is sick of these posts, or is someone hitting the delete/lock thread button right now.
