Subject: Are "bots" allowed in this game?
Because I've reported several within the span of 2 weeks and nothing seems to have been done about it yet.

By "bots" I mean players using some sort of program to have their characters kill and loot everything in sight while they are not at their PC.

If it takes this long for such a simple task to be looked into, I'm afraid at how many other oversights there are.

I don't even know who to contact about this - the numerous GMs I reported the bots to have just told me that they cannot give me the details of their "investigation," yet I still see the same bots in the same areas and even them selling epic weapons in the AH for hundreds of gold.

Congrats,
Bam.

Subject: Re: Are "bots" allowed in this game?
As the above poster has stated, the act of "botting" is not permitted in World of Warcraft. We take a very harsh stance against those players who are found to be using bot programs; though this may not be apparent to the player reporting them, due to the fact that our investigations into a suspected botter are very thorough and may take quite a while to complete.

We do understand that botting can adversely affect our players' gameplay experience, and are constantly making strides to improve the speed of our investigations. Even so, we must take all precautions to ensure that we do not take action against a legitimate player; after all, just because a player appears to be a bot, does not mean that the player is one, in truth. Hence the reasoning behind our very thorough investigations, and why it may appear as though no action is being taken.

I hope this helps to give you an idea of how we feel about botting, Bam. We definitely appreciate the reports we receive from our players; without them, we wouldn't have been able to find and remove as many illegitimate players (botters, exploiters, hackers, etc) and prevent them from negatively impacting the experience of our legitimate players. Thank you for your diligence and your concern! :)
