Q u o t e:
but i don't know where to leave the milk and cookies, also can you give the actual answer

We are only able to be seen if we make ourselves visible, which is not at all a standard practice when assisting customers.

So yes, it is a rarity to see a Game Master in-game, much like finding the lowest gas price in one's city. Once it's found, the mob turns up.

Q u o t e:
Batta, do you appear as a fiery Imp on those rare occasions when you, personally, appear ingame (as a GM), or is your appearance that of one of the 8 playable races?

I wish I could be an Imp in game. Sadly, this avatar is simply for the forums and is not tied into my account as far as in-game characters go. I would still appear as one of the existing races.

Q u o t e:
are you allowed to play on your GM character like at home? or only at work

Our Game Master characters are strictly used for assisting players with in-game issues only. We carry no weapons... only policies and caffeine. ; p

Q u o t e:
Most of the time they are logged on to a special client that provides only chat capability as well as allowing them to access and assist players on myltiple realms simultaneously, or so I hear. Therefore, for them to appear ingame requires them to load up a normal copy of WoW before they can do so.

This is entirely correct. The chat program is used for communicating with players, looking up character information, etc.; whereas, any sort of visible verification required is done completely through a slightly altered version of the standard WoW client. The specific functionalities of either program are details into which I cannot delve any further.

As for a favorite hang-out spot specifically in-game, I find the peak of Blackrock Mountain to be quite refreshing... very clean air up there, and it's perfect for cliff jumping. = o

Honestly though, we don't usually tend to "hang out" in-game very often, as our work flow and time constraints do not frequently allow for cruising around; not to mention our need to switch realms frequently should we need to physically go in-game for each petition we receive.

Edit: Typo

Q u o t e:
Can you take over an NPC kinda like the Agents did in Matrix?

No, we tend not to interfere with the affairs of Azeroth whenever possible, hence our invisibility. ; )
