Subject: For Those That Had to Change Character Name
If you're asked by the GM to change your character's name, will your old name automatically be updated on people's friends list after the change?

Example: Let's say I'm currently named X and someone have that name on their friends list. I change my name to Y. Is that person going to see me as Y on the friends list automatically? Or does that person have to manually add me as Y to the list?

Your new character name will automatically update on others' friends lists. These players may need to relog for the update to take effect; however, this effect is automatic.

I believe Tandaa was responding to Azmodan's question, Evilstar. To answer your question, no - a Game Master will be unable to manually update your name on your friends' lists. The name should update after the players log out and log back in, as Batta said.
