There are several posts currently on the message boards about the six month rule coming into effect.
On the front page it says that this only changes the servers opened today and in the future but then a CSR came out in this thread

to say any that aren't currently 3 months will be affected.
Altar of Storms (US) will be turning 3 months old in exactly 4 days. Are you going to apply a retroactive change in the transfer ruleset to this server even though the AQ gates are open and Naxx bosses are being killed?

I do apologize for any confusion our announcement of these changes may be causing, Icitrik. If I may clarify -
All new realms which are not currently open for transfers will be on the new six-month rule. This means, assuming no further amendments are made to the transfer procedure, that Altar of Storms transfers will not become available for an additional three months. Any newly released realms will automatically be on this six-month rule.

Any new realm that is not currently accepting paid transfers will have the new six-month rule applied automatically.

Are you sure? Can you ask someone specifically if Altar of Storms is on the six month rule.
I've already spoken to members of the Community team specifically in regards to your post to ensure you are receiving the correct information.[ post edited by Batta ]
