Subject: Item Restoration
I have used two character restorations in the past, about 3-4 weeks ago my account was stolen and someone deleted my character and all my items. I immediately emailed Blizzard about what happened and they closed the account for security purposes, it took a couple of days to finally get a reply from the administration offices telling me the are only sending info about the situation to the registered email address which I don't use anymore, so, I had to call blizzard and stay on hold for two hours to change my email address so I can contact blizzard and see what's up.

I change my email address to my current one and type the same thing over, I get an email about the account retrieval process and send in all my info and I just got my account back yesterday, about 3-4 weeks from when it was stolen.

I log on to see that my character was restored, including some items, the problem is, they restored the wrong items. I'm in one of the top guilds of the server and I deleted most of my old blue armor and weapons seeing that I now have epics and I need to pay heavy repair bills from AQ40, basically they restored my darkmantle that I deleted on purpose and they didn't restore my nightslayer and bloodfang that was deleted by the hacker.

I emailed wowcharhelp@blizzard.com and they tell me that we regret to inform you that we are unable to restore these items, this is nonsense.

In this game, a character is only as good as his gear, I honestly spent 6 months to get him where he is and I can't do anything because blizzard restored the wrong items... :(

   Hi Jojoman,

I have inquired into this issue on your behalf. It is going to be examined for you in detail. This does not necessarily mean you will receive any extra reimbursement but we will do what we can to further investigate your case. I wish you the best with it and hope it works out positively for you.

Thanks, do you need my account name or any other info?

No, that is fine but thank you though.

Yeah, I've never heard of that either, I would really like to get a blue response to this to see if I really need to farm gold to get my items restored?

To assuage your concerns, Jojo, this is indeed standard procedure; it was determined that the items in question were sold to a vendor, and thus you must repay 190g -- the amount your character gained from this process -- in order to have the lost property restored. I do apologise, however, for any confusion you may have been caused. :)
