Subject: Mods
I am probably just blind but I can't seem to find Blizzards policy on WOW mods anywhere. Can someone (preferebly a Blizz poster) tell me what the deal is? Can I use mods at all? If so, are there any types I can't use or is it pretty much anything goes? (Like, I am assuming bots are illegal, and I wouldn't wanna use one anyway but how about UI mods and mods like Guild Event Manager?)

Thanks!

The best rule of thumb is this, Topgun: If the addon exists merely within what is called the "Lua sandbox" -- that is to say, it does not go beyond the boundaries of the in-game scripting language used in macros -- it should be fine. If the addon requires interaction with some third-party program outside of World of Warcraft, however, you would be well-advised to exercise caution; it's possible for those utilities to violate our Terms of Use by interfacing with the game client in ways which have been found to be exploitive. I'd also be wary of any addons that require some sort of executable (.exe) to install, as any number of other programs or files could be bundled with the addon. I hope that helps. :)
