I dropped 300 mining and sent in a GM request to restore it only to find out that they are unable to do it? I'm pretty sure some of my friends have done this before and had the GM restore it within a couple of days. Not get some email saying they are screwed.
So if you can give me feedback on this it would help me a lot.

I am sorry to say Sockety that this is not a service that currently Game Masters are able to offer. While we do indeed offer a limited number of in-game reimbursements to cover decisions leading to accidental losses, unfortunately this does not extend to professions. The reasons for this are related to it being extremely difficult for us to verify what exact loss/losses did occur. There are some good player-made guides out there on how to raise mining skill quickly that I would suggest you check these out. Hopefully your loss is not too hard to overcome and I apologize once again that we did not have a more direct way to assist you with it.
