Good Evening,
Last week, my character was deleted from my account during an account compromise. I only had one character (Gortanis) who I had leveled for the past year and a half and have been raiding for the past 8 months.
I followed the process for account restoration. I responded as required for character restoration. So I submit a ticket last night for status, since I'm getting barraged by my guild asking when is Gort gonna be back.
Last night the GM said that they received my email, that they had received everything required and Gort was in the queue and it shouldn't take more than a "day or 2". Great. I'll be able to get back to playing.
But tonight, I submit a status request and the GM states that it is still being investigated and it could take 1-3 weeks.
So, what the heck is going on? Why am I being punished for something that is, based on the posts in this forum, happening all over the place. Someone hacked my account and deleted my only character. (btw, the gm I first spoke to verified to me that there was a foreign IP log on my account. It had only happened once; the night that this compromise occured.)
Not only can I not participate in this game with my friends, but the "Game Masters" are lying to me. Is this how you run a business? I've been cordial and courteous in all my requests, and for god's sake, I'm tired of being treated like a criminal and child.
When will I get my character back? Should I go ahead and consider leaving the game for a month or so, cause if that's how long it's gonna take, I have no inclination to play an alt for that time, nor do I wish to pay for something I have no access to for all the work I put in.
P.S. I sent the requests for updates by email first, but never received a response, nor did I receive a response in this forum when I was asking for clarification on what was happening.

Before all else, Gortanon, I'd like to apologise for any confusion which may have arisen during your previous correspondence with our department; I can imagine that this has been quite a harrowing ordeal for you, and I understand your frustration at what appear to you as discrepancies between the responses you have received. I have, however, taken the liberty of looking into the matter, and confirmed that the matter of your compromised account is currently being analysed by our Account Investigation team -- although I am unable to offer any guarantees, you should be contacted within the next couple days regarding the results of their research. In the meantime, friend, your patience is appreciated. :)
