Subject: Loot Tables FTL
Ok so I got off the Phone with tech support about loot tables just a bit ago and he said to make this post here. He said it would be a good place to address this issue. I was talking with him about loot tables and how it seems like my guild and in talking with other guilds they just seem to get the same drops over and over again. My guild is on the Bolderfist server and my friend belongs to another guild on the same server. We seem to be having the same issues. We keep getting the same drops all the time. In talking to tech support several times about other matters I keep bring up this matter and I keep getting the same response loot tables are random. If this is true then there is an issue with our server. My guild keeps getting the same old drops so much we have become a nexus crystal factory. Take BWL for instance. We get good drops for weapons there. A bit light on the Herald of Woe department and I think our guild has only seen 1 Lokamir il Romathis drop in the entire time we have been running BWL and we have never seen an Legendary item ever drop. My friends guild has not seen 1 weapon drop for a melee class other than Lokamir il Romathis and Herald of Woe. That seems a bit low. Rumors of having a new person become the raid leader and even having that person zone in to the instance first are a bit too much. The process should work everything regardless of who the leader is. Its just a bit frustrating to run an instance week after week and never see the item you are after drop. Can you please look into this matter or give me a reason our guild and many others keep getting the same loot? Other than that we are going to be forced to rename our guild to Hunter, Rogues and Druids.

It is true that loot tables are random. No outside variables, such as realm, Raid Leader, time entering the instance, time it takes to complete the instance, amount of specific classes in the Raid group, who gets the kill shot on the mob, etc. will affect the chance of particular loot dropping. A similar discussion was brought up yesterday and that that thread remains on the first page. You may want to take a look at the responses provided here:

With that said, to quote Guildenstern concerning a coin that lands 'heads' over ninety times in a row:

"Consider...

...One: I'm willing it. Inside where nothing shows, I am the essence of a man spinning double-headed coins, and betting against himself in private atonement for an unremembered past.

Two: time has stopped dead, and the single experience of one coin being spun once has been repeated ninety times. On the whole, doubtful.

Three: divine intervention, that is to say, a good turn from above concerning him, cf. children of Israel, or retribution concernng me, cf. Lot's wife.

Four: a spectacular vindication of the principle that each individual coin spun individually is as likely to come down heads as tails and therefore should cause no surprise each individual time it does..."
