I am wondering if I have any recorse in a purchase that I made recently. I bought an epic mace that I have had for a while now. Someone in the trade channel was selling another one for a low price and figured I would buy it and flip it for a profit.
I paid the person and got it sent in the mail only to find out I couldn't get it because I already had one. I was completely unaware of such a thing and have never heard of or seen this mentioned anywhere.
If the seller refuses to refund my money even though she still has the mace is there anything I can do about this?

Hey, Arapaho. I'd just like to build off of the idea Faiz has mentioned in the event the player who sold you this item does not wish to reverse the transaction. Please keep in mind that the following steps are entirely at your own risk and not recommended by our Game Master staff.
1) Take the mace you currently own and sell it to a vendor. Important! - Once you have done this, do not leave the zone or log out of your character until the entire process is complete.
2) Visit the mailbox and remove the extraneous Unique item.
3) Place this item on the Auction House or sell it to someone directly.
4) Return to a vendor and purchase the original mace from the Buy Back tab once the duplicate item has been removed from your inventory.
This will successfully circumvent the mechanics of Unique items and you will be deemed clever. = )

Yes, but to forward the item, one must first take the item out of the mailbox and create a new piece of mail. This can still be done; however, selling the original item to a vendor is still necessary.

I'm assuming, based on the information this thread, that this particular Unique equippable Mace must be "Bind on Equip" and already bound to the player. ; )
