Almost 2 years ago myself and a few friends started playing WoW. We all started characters on the same server and blah blah blah.
Anyways, we convinced one of the guys to start a character with a clever name referring to a particularly offensive body part (forgive us, we were young and ignorant.)
Thinking his name would be caught and he'd have to change it we didn't worry about it. However ever since then he's been trying to get it changed. He hates the name and would like something different. We've sent in numerous tickets about changing it but we always get a canned response about how they can't do it.
So, seeing as how his name clearly violates the naming terms and he has turned himself in and wishes to change it to something less offensive, why would the game masters fight back so much to keep him from doing so?

If possible, Poradana, can you offer me the name and realm of another character on your friend's account, aside from the one whose name he wishes to change? :)

Having looked into the matter, Poradana, I must say that I agree with the previous Game Masters' judgments: Your friend's name has not been considered to be a violation of our policies, nor is the inappropriate physiological reference you mention at all apparent to me. As such, I'm sorry to say that we may not change your friend's name at his request.
