Subject: Replacing Models and Textures
Is it against the terms of service to do this?... say i was a field marshal human mage, and i wanted my shoulders to look like those of Archmage Xylem (NPC). Please give me some insight into this matter.

ps. Archmage Xylem's shoulder model art is currently unavailable to players in game, i was wondering if it was legit to switch the models around.

To answer your question, Galdin, replacing in-game models and textures is in fact a direct violation of our End User License Agreement, more specifically Section 4A:

Q u o t e:
Subject to the license granted hereunder, you may not, in whole or in part, copy, photocopy, reproduce, translate, reverse engineer, derive source code from, modify, disassemble, decompile, or create derivative works based on the Game, or remove any proprietary notices or labels on the Game. Failure to comply with the restrictions and limitations contained in this Section 4 shall result in the immediate, automatic termination of the license granted hereunder and may subject you to civil and/or criminal liability. Notwithstanding the foregoing, you may make one (1) copy of the Game Client and the Manuals for archival purposes only.

In order to change those files, it is necessary to modify specific data bundled with World of Warcraft, which breaches the contract you've agreed to. Please don't do it. :)
