Subject: Status of restoration of my deleted character
   Hi, I just wanted to make a quick post regarding my situation. My account was hacked yesterday morning, and my main level 60 warrior was deleted after a friend witnessed all his gear being disenchanted and sold by the hacker. I reset my password, opened a petition and had a GM lock my account. Today I faxed in the necessary paperwork, and Blizzard unlocked it soon after. Thanks for the quick work on that! However, I have not received any notice regarding getting my deleted character and items back. I did send an email to a Blizzard rep about it, but have not heard anything back yet. I was hoping one of you Blizz forum trolls (lol) might be able to check the status of my problem. If so, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks.

   I've taken the liberty of confirming that the matter of your compromised account is currently being analysed by a member of our Account Investigation Team, Lateral; you should receive a response via e-mail regarding the results of their research sometime in the next few days. In the meantime, friend, your continued patience is much appreciated. :)

Thanks for the reply and for the quick investigation. One more question; the only things that were not restored were enchants I had on all my items (which is understandable) and my 300 swordsmithing. The hacker apparently dropped it for enchanting to D/E my gear and sell the nexus crystals before deleting the character. Is a profession something that Blizzard is simply unable to restore? If so, I can accept that and be grateful for what I got back, I just wanted to ask and make sure before giving up. Thanks again!

I am glad to hear your restoration was reached and undertaken. *smiles*

It is indeed true that enchants may be unable to be restored when reimbursements are made. Similarly it may not be possible to verify and restore any lost professions. I do apologize for that Lateral and hope the loss of this skill isn't too crippling. If you decide to re-train the same profession you may encounter patterns that you can no longer obtain due to being quest rewards from quests that you had already completed in the past. If this occurs I would then recommend opening a ticket to a Game Master and we will try our best to replace those for you if at all possible. Good luck.
