Although not a story full of excitement or interesting encounters, I found a bit of fun on the PTR today. After starting with an undead rogue pre-made I ran to Light's Hope Chapel to check out the changes there. To my surprise the moderate PvP I expected to see was replaced by hundreds of bodies littering the landscape, and while this is a PvE server, a huge number of people engaging in PvP. I was pushing 8fps on my meager work machine due to the bodies before lowering some quality and resolution settings. After setting up my bars, I jumped in.
My first fight against a gnome mage who I got to about 10% before losing, this is when I remembered I had no talents spent. My next fight was against a hunter; I made quick work of him and was able to subdue a warrior who had jumped in mid-fight. At that moment I realized that I had no flash powder. You would think I would check, I made a hasty assumption that they were supplied. Between my yelps and screams cursing myself I hadn't checked beforehand, I somehow managed to get away, stealth, heal up and then go back and find the warrior and finish him off. There were many others between him and me to be sure, but I felt it necessary to finish the fight we started.
I'll probably go back tonight. I have yet to really explore Naxxramas, and I would almost prefer to save that experience for when it hits the live realms. Aside from the wait to get in, is anyone else encountering a bit of fun in the middle of helping test?

Q u o t e: I hope this isnt your way of saying were overpowered and need nerfs.
Haha, no, I was kind of waiting for someone to assume that. I think that with the test realm many people either use classes they haven't played before, or with gear/levels they are not used to. I think that the level of skill varies greatly in such an environment. I think I probably just owned a few noobs, and it was glorious. The mage was somewhat skilled, but I'm sure if I was aptly prepared I would have won that fight.

Q u o t e: WTB not having to use reagents for abilities. Fadeleaf is a pain. I dont see druids haveing to farm to be able to Gift their groups in AQ do ya?
WTB a thread without complaints.
Q u o t e: So is there a posion vendor in LHC?
You know, I didn't even look. After I beat the warrior it was time to get back to work.[ post edited by Drysc ]

Q u o t e: I really enjoyed stealthing around in Naxx though.
Hrm, maybe I will give that a try. My curiosity is beginning to get the best of me. The test realms are really for testing though, I'm just taking up a spot on the realm unless I'm really being active and keeping an eye out for issues or problems.

Q u o t e: Drysc how did you spec your rogue? And did you stick with the swords, or did you switch to the daggers they put in the bags?
I went daggers. My talents are kind of funny actually, I was going towards something like a 16/25/10 but misclicked somewhere and decided to just fudge the rest.

Q u o t e: no i mean the mage killed him with it being the mages first time ever being a mage
That's a nice assumption, but he won, who cares? I was specced 0/0/0 and he happened to give me a little run for my money.
Q u o t e: isnt drysc suppose to understand the rogue class or something?
Or something.
Q u o t e: and why would you test rogues out as a cm on the test server when its a bunch of noobs screwing around on classes they have never played before?
Test rogues? Oh, so I relate a simple story and it's now my first time ever playing a rogue. I get it.

Q u o t e: I wish you had more detailed information as to how you got a away. All we ask for is a combat log of these fight you had. Then we can make some progress.
He charged me, and after taking some damage (I think I was at about 1/5 health and he was full) I sapped, then I mounted and ran. He chased me for a while but I think he must have aggrod something and gotten dazed off because he fell back very quickly.
You want combat logs so you can pick them apart and prove how "Blizzard doesn't understand the rogue class". Let me get right on that. :P
