I don't write any UI mods, but I do use several. I am aware of the reasoning behind forcing a player linkdead when they attempt to send out an "unseen" link on the server to prevent the mining of items.
However, today I was afflicted by this issue in a circumstance that should not be happening.
I have the priest-epic staff, Benediction, which can be transformed into a more shadow-spell focused item called Anathema. Being a raid-oriented priest, I have my staff enchanted in it's Benediction form (which means I cannot freely transform the staff unless I wish to lose my enchants). Because of this, I have been using ItemsMatrix to link out the transformed version stats when people ask (there are only 2 priest epics on my server thus far, and we both keep the item in Benediction at the current time).
So today, post-maintenance, I go to link Anathema to someone who inquired about the item, only to be promptly disconnected.
Could you please allow for the servers to keep their item cache through the maintenance period each week? That or allow for Benediction to allow for Anathema links (as well as other tranform weapons to allow links of those items - like a tradeskill recipe would).
