Subject: Why were we givin no warning on the patcher?
What did you think people with cable wouldnt notice a bt client running in the background with unlimited upload?

What about people that don't read the forums?

I'm sure people on dialup will have a fun night

Theres no excuse for this, didnt even have the courtesy to warn people what you were doing.

Why don't you act like steam(never thought I would say that) and give people the option when to start the preload, at their on chooseing. Instead of while trying to play a game.

Q u o t e:
"New Blizzard Background Downloader added to World of Warcraft. For more information regarding the Blizzard Background Downloader, please visit: http://www.blizzard.com/support/wow/?id=aww01954p "

-World of Warcraft Insider EMAIL 4/4/2006.

In addition it was also posted on the main website, on the Blizzard Launcher, and we had stickies placed in multiple forums announcing its inclusion and purpose.

We took as many steps as possible to provide information on the Background Downloader. We of course had no intention of sneaking anything in; its a tool that benefits you the player by having everything ready to go on patch day. I can certainly understand your surprise if you hadnt seen any of the previous announcements, but hopefully youre learning more about it now.
