Subject: A fishing issue
I have a small problem with the way fishing is implemented in the game.

In order to successfully fish, you must stare at the screen for a continuous period of time.

For a person with Attention Deficit Disorder, that is a much more difficult task. The bobber is small, the water ripples and there are schools of fish swimming just under the surface, as well as crabs. lobster people (the new alliance race?), and players. It is next to impossible for some people to ignore these distractions.

This is not a troll thread. While certain drugs are most certainly over-prescibed, ADD is a real condition.

Fishing is really the only aspect of the game that requires you to look at one area of the screen continuously for such a long period of time.

I was wondering if anyone had any constructive input on possible changes.

When fishing in RL, you know that you have hooked a fish, not just by the sight of the bobber, but by the pull on the line and even the sound of the bobber and/or fish splashing.

I realize that they do not want to make fishing too easy, but there should be a middle ground. If you look away for a second, you miss it now.

I have thought of a longer bob period, a brighter bobber, a bigger splash and a bobber sound.

Any other ideas?

I fish while I'm working. I turn up my speakers (or headphones), cast the line, hover my cursor over the mouse, and look to the other computer screen (or at home, a book, my sketchbook, or what-have-you). Upon hearing the splash, I quickly bring my hand back up to the mouse and click. Fish hooked, and I wasn't looking at the screen. It can be done. :)

Mmm yes, of course.

And yet, when I was taking feedback for the Hunter review, I recall a lot of angry voices stating I didn't understand their issues because I hadn't played their character to 60.

Do you want me to know the game or be ignorant of the issues? The developers, as well as the majority of the community from my experience, prefer the former, and so do I.

Folks, let's keep this on fishing, not ADD. Thanks.
