I have a brilliant idea. Set age limits on certain servers. "What will this achieve?" you might ask... First off, I'm sick of joining Battlegrounds only to see a bunch of idiots yelling "wat do i do? lololol!!!1" It might actually feel good to win for once. Nobody knows what they're doing except for the few 18+ year old people I happen to be grouped with. I see mages on offence when they should be defending, I see Night elves shadowmelding in the middle of a fight because they're scared...This doesn't just apply to Battlegrounds, it applies to the realm in general. I'm tired of waiting for half an hour just to find a group who knows what they're doing. Waiting a half hour for a group is the reason why I left FFXI. Nobody respects our help anymore. I get all sorts of insults from kids who didn't know I couldn't tank or heal. They just take my water and say "u suck, n00b!" Then they proceed to drag a bunch of aggro to our group. I don't expect this idea of mine to actually be put to use, but it feels good to vent my frustrations every once in a while...

Interacting with players from both ends of the age-range spectrum is part of playing a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. Placing the restrictions you've suggested would serve no real purpose except to label and segregate players by age, in addition to the split it would cause many friends family. You should be aware that adults are just as capable of being offensive as children when behind the anonymity of the internet.
My advice is to try and be a little more tolerant. If you feel you're being harassed or witness inappropriate behavior, report it to a Game Master thru the petitioning system. If a player is acting in a manner that causes you unrest, place them on your /ignore list.
